It's a wrap 2016!

2016 was a blast for me. This year I received a wonderful opportunity to take my career into the next level together with a very generous compensation. I never imagined myself receiving a blessing as great as this. Though this made me proud I never took the credit and still give the glory to the Almighty.  So today, two days left before we bid goodbye to 2016. I would like to highlight the things I learned from this year.

Always have a heart full of Love...
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I admit I am not the type who is always calm and speaks with gentleness. But guys I bet you I have a big heart and I know it is full of love that I can share to everyone who needs it. Compassion towards others is I think sometimes I missed. I know love but I do not know how to truly share it. That is why I always remind myself to never forget to shower love. Love God, Love my family, Love my friends, Love my fellowmen and of course MYSELF!

There's a time for everything...

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

There comes a time in my life that I want to do all things that comes to my mind. See this is not how things work. We have a thing called timing that most of us missed because we have a lot of wants in life. One of the cause of my failure is because I rushed things which end up badly. This is bad since I am the person who usually uses my planner and always organize but I tend to screw things up. Never do the same mistake again. Instead of rushing why not live in the moment?

Radiate beauty with grace...
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

Due to numerous obligation and unbeatable schedules, I always forgot to grace beauty to everyone. See I am not talking about beautiful face, hair, clothes nor shoes. I am talking about how I approached others. I always forgot that I get what I give. If my attitude is ugly it reflects to my face. If I fail to asked with kindness I will be treated rudely. If I do not show love I will be hated. Always show beauty in every angle of your life. Yes nobody is perfect but nobody says you can't do your part.

Live with humility...
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

My life this year was rolled into a lot of misunderstandings. The problem gets bigger and bigger because I tend to point fingers instead of owning my mistakes.  I know a lot will agree that its difficult to stay our feet flat in the ground and be humble. Yes who wants to accept that they made a mistake. I do not wave my white flag when it comes to arguments and I really fight for what I believe. But sometimes this what makes the problem even bigger. Always remember that it takes two to tango. You surely took your part in the problem so better man up and resolve it peacefully.

Goof around...
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Sometimes I want to go back in time and goof around like what I used to when I was a kid. Things like playing under the sun all day without thinking of ultraviolet rays or sunburn. Sleeping at night and waking up the next morning without a care in the world. Sometimes we have to get the kid out of us to enjoy things. I always feel warm and playful whenever I am around my daughter. She reminds me that I should not make my life difficult or like an algorithm that needs to be solve. I just need to learn again how to have a good time.

Don't dream its over...
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The year started with us hoping to have a place of our own and also me rocking this pixie cut. Well then both came true. Thanks to God, hard work and perseverance... and courage of course! Dreaming is free and we can go beyond our imagination.

Never ask something you cannot give...
Do to others as you would have them do to you.

I believe that when you ask something you should be able to give it also. Let me clarify this by giving an example. For instance you want to be respected. Then you should do the same. You want to be treated nice then do the same. Let's say you do not want others minding your business then do the same.

Set your priorities straight...
No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

What is your priority? Sometimes they ask, what is your top priority? Well I believe that if we set our priorities straight it won't be difficult to come up with a decision. My priority next to God is my family. So I never blink or think twice if I want to do something for their good.

Money really matters...
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Let's be real here. Money is essential because without money we cannot do or buy the things we need and want. Money right now is really earned hard. So we better treasure it and spend wisely. Do not rush into buying things. Sometimes we have to learn to wait and see what is really meant for us.

Never forget to enjoy and have fun...
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Where did the time go? It seems like it was just yesterday that I wrote my year-end blog. There are so much things happened. This morning I carried Julianna and I get tired easily. She is getting bigger and more playful. This remind me to always enjoy and have fun. Have a me-time once a month, go on lunch or dinner with friends, have quality time with hubby, stroll around the mall with the family and have all the playtime I can have with my Julianna.

To all of us congratulations for our 2016! Cheers to all who poured their hearts, shed tears, shared experiences and grew to a better being.

Thank you for reading my blog and Happy New Year to all!

  19. It sure looks like you had a blast in 2016! I agree, failing to set your priorities straight is setting up yourself to failure. That is why it is a must that we set our plans based on our priorities and our goals.
